SHELLEY COPLEY, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular,
and Developmental Biology, University of Colorado-Boulder, and a Fellow of the
Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Studies (CIRES), University of
Colorado-Boulder. Her research is funded by the National Institutes of Health,
