March 30, 2005 - April 15, 2006 With the act of being selected for display in a museum, the importance of objects is enhanced. The ordinary becomes something of value; the extraordinary may open you to worlds undreamed of. Museum exhibits ask us to consider why something has been chosen for display and what meaning should be attached to it. Objects may be important to a curator for one reason and to a visitor for another. The University of Colorado Museum of natural History has selected 25 sensational objects to display, from its world class collections numbering more than 4 million, and welcomes you to share your thoughts and feelings about them. Join on-going conversations with writers, painters, performance artists, musicians, and one another during this exciting project. |
