Pencil

This was my first project.  I like this drawing (done all in pencil) and I think it looks a lot like the actual shell.  This drawing also started a change in my drawing style.  I usually draw very small, but I just thought the shell would look better if drawn larger.  Now I’m drawing almost everything larger scale.

Acrylic Paint

This is the same shell I used for the first project. I used acrylic paint. The colors are pretty close to the real thing, except I added more blue to emphasize the shading and shape.

Colored Pencil

 I wasn’t really happy about how the color and shading turned out, but I love the eyes, and I think I able to capture the giraffe’s expression from the picture I used.
